Notification for the creation of NCIIPC

The Government of India has released a notification under Section 70A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 for the creation of a National Nodal Agency in terms of Critical Information Infrastructure Protection, under the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) which comes under the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The primary functions of the agency are to protect the nation’s critical information infrastructure (CII) from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and disruptions by coordinating with stakeholders and raising awareness about information security. The agency will coordinate threat monitoring, analysis, and early warning systems, and assist in developing plans, standards, and best practices for CII protection.
